We made it!! DONE FUNDRAISING for now!!
[/s]
For five years we were able to host this board for free on Christie's husband's account. But the free ride is over. With the move of the board last month we now are having to pay to keep the board going.

The nice thing is that it's also meant we can now upload images directly to posts instead of having to host them at a photo sharing site, and there may be other things we can do in the future too as message board technology improves.

All of it costs money though. Our initial costs are over $350 and we will have annual maintenance fees. In the past people have offered to help and so now we are taking you up on it. The PayPal account is ONLY for this board's fees. No group members will EVER use anything for their own personal use (unless we choose to do a fundraiser for a board member, and that will be discussed.) My name shows up on the PayPal receipt but all the Admins have access to the account and we will keep each other honest. Smile

Whatever you can donate will be appreciated. Whether it's $1 or $10, whether you want to donate once or do it once a month. Once we reach $450 that will keep us going for the next year or two and we will hide the PayPal info until we need to raise funds again.

Please go to PayPal.com and donate using the address scrappinchatadmin@gmail.com

Any questions? Thanks for helping keep us online together! If you don't do PayPal but want to donate please contact me and you can send me a check.

RE: It's that time - we need your help!
Okay, I've had a question about why I said upfront costs were $350 and yet we are asking for $450.

Tracy has already put just over $300 on her personal credit card. Christie has already paid for the annual domain name fee (around $35, we think - apparently she just ate this cost herself every year but we are paying her back this time when we transfer the domain!) There will be annual fees for the tech support and that domain name, and by leaving $100 or so in the PayPal account after we've paid back Tracy and Christie we won't have to ask for money again hopefully for a couple of years.

Look into to renewing the name for multiple years, you'll get a much better rate.

Right now Christie still owns the domain name, I think, there was some giltch with when she renewed it vs. when she could transfer it, but I'm sure Tracy will look into that. Thanks for the suggestion!

Thanks for letting us know. I'll chip in some. I was just in Scrapshare. I haven't been there in so long, I felt like a stranger. I remember how I couldn't go a day without checking in at Scrapshare at least once a day or several times. This board is my go-to board now.

Could we have a ticker so we can see how close we are to the goal?

Jennifer - I put a ticker on the thread. I'll try to manually update it a couple times a day. Or one of the admins can probably update it too.

Done.

Sent it as a 'gift' - hopefully that will all go to the board and not have any service charges from PayPal!

RE: It's that time - we need your help!
For those of you who have paid, can I get you to go check your PayPal account? I was just on mine and it asked me to confirm that my order was "shipped." Because we are a brand new PayPal account our funds are being held for 21-60 days to make sure we're not scammers. I promise we're not - if you are reading this you're getting what you paid for, right? Smile

Anyway, it might have a place for you to check that your order was received or something like that. If you'd please check it that will help PayPal know we're not Nigerian royalty trying to reclaim funds that are rightfully ours!

Ok, we don't need you to post here. Smile It was pointed out to me that this might turn into a list of those who have been able to donate and those who can't might feel bad.

Just, if you've donated, check your PayPal. Most of you will be fine. If you're one of the three who is not, just tell PayPal "my item has been shipped." We don't need anything here. Smile

I've had a couple people contact me about mailing a check or getting me cash so at some point I can add a little more to the ticker.
